Job Summary:

As the Chef de Cuisine at Methodology, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our culinary identity alongside our Head of Culinary Innovation. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and manage the daily production kitchen team in crafting exceptional, health-conscious meals that delight our discerning clientele. Your culinary expertise, creativity, and commitment to quality will be instrumental in upholding Methodology's reputation as a leader in the high-end, health-conscious food delivery industry.

Responsibilities:

Our menu changes every week to give our guests ample variety to stay excited and engaged with our service long-term. This drives a constant need for us to add new menu items weekly to support our community who have been ordering from us for years.

  • Culinary Leadership: Inspire and guide the kitchen team, ensuring meticulous attention to detail, consistency, and innovation in meal preparation and presentation.

  • Menu Development: Collaborate with our Head of Culinary to create menus that showcase the finest ingredients and flavors, aligning with our commitment to health and sustainability.

  • Quality Control: Maintain rigorous quality standards, overseeing every aspect of meal production to ensure it reflects Methodology's high culinary standards.

  • Kitchen Operations: Manage daily kitchen operations, adhering to our recipes, portion control guidelines, and sustainability practices.

  • Scheduling: Manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules. Manage staffing schedules that are relevant to OKRs and company goals. Assist Head of Culinary with forecasting business needs in regards to staffing, production schedules, and volume.

  • Nutritional Excellence: Uphold our philosophy of "food as medicine" by managing recipe integrity and ensuring nutritionally balanced meals that promote overall well-being.

  • Training and Development: Mentor and nurture the culinary team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and culinary excellence while maintaining company values.

  • Sustainability: Champion our commitment to sustainability by ensuring environmentally responsible sourcing, preparation, and waste management practices.

  • Health and Safety: Maintain strict compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

Skills & Qualities:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Executive Sous Chef in a high-end, health-conscious culinary environment. With preference given to candidates with a strong background in Michelin and James Beard establishments.

  • Culinary degree or equivalent training.

  • Exceptional culinary skills and a keen understanding of nutrition.

  • True passion for culinary with vision and adaptability to changing culinary trends.

  • Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in kitchen management, inventory control, and cost management.

  • Proficiency in technology: proprietary software, G-Suite with an emphasis on Sheets. Slack as a communication tool.

  • Commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Preference given to bi-lingual candidates.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
